November Team Spotlight...and a Turkey Week Birthday

Our marketing manager sees herself essentially as a digital (and IRL) cheerleader. She gets the word out about all the great offerings we have for our community and clients. Cristal is happy to have a Thanksgiving week birthday; well, an entire week dedicated to eating, shopping and family?! What's not to love? Get to know her better in the short form Q & A below.

Q. Your favorite quote. Bonus if you can name the source.

A. "Life is long if you know how to use it"  - Seneca the Elder

Q. Have you ever had a nickname? If so, what is it?

A. I have had a few nicknames, but one that really stuck for awhile is “Belezinha”, it was given to me by my capoeira instructor. Pretty soon the whole class and academy was calling me that, if I run into any friends from that time they still use it.

Q. Where did you grow up and what is one great memory from there?

A. I lived in California until I was 7 and then in Boca Raton until going to college. In the Bay Area I remember the cold, foggy mornings. I remember the sound and smell of eucalyptus trees and how you could see all of San Francisco from my elementary school in Richmond.

Q. In your opinion, what is the best part about working in Finance?

A. Since I work in marketing for a financial advisory practice, my perspective is more that of a layperson. It gratifies me to see the long-term trust and friendships our clients have built with their advisor. I like seeing the new clients who come in with so many questions and uncertainties leave our office very relieved the someone who knows what they’re doing cares and can wisely guide them. I like helping people and I feel like we are here to do just that.

Q. Do you have any hobbies? If so, tell us a bit about them.

A. I used to do martial arts (capoeira and jiu-jitsu), but I have always been a reader. If you give me more then 10 minutes of my own time all alone, I’ll be reading, every time.

Q. Pets? yes/no. If you could have any pet real or imaginary, what would it be?

A. I am the proud fur-mom to a rescue mix breed dog, Luci. Luci with an I, like Cristal with an I. If I could have any pet it would still be a dog, in the real world or fantasyland or another universe. And probably a horse.
